Cars 201 and 202 are permanently coupled and share some electrical and air equipment. They cannot operate separate of each other. Because of this they are often referred to as a “married pair”. This is the only preserved married pair that once served on the rapid. These cars are short because they were designed to run in the tight confines of a proposed Cleveland Subway. Cars 201-202 were the first cars to run on the system. They broke the banner at Windermere Station on March 15, 1955. This was the ceremony that formally opened the CTS Rapid Transit Line to service. Today this is the RTA Red line rapid.
