Homeschool Train Rides & Field Trips in Seville
The Northern Ohio Railway Museum welcomes homeschool groups for both public and private visits centered around our historic train rides.
Groups of 30 or more can book private guided tours on exclusive dates, even when the museum is closed to the general public. Smaller groups can schedule a guided field trip during regular operating hours and enjoy all the same hands-on interactions. Whatever your group size, we have a program designed for you. We are here to help your students explore the technical innovations of Ohio’s electric railways and the lasting impact they had on the communities they served.

Meet the Experts
Our educational field trips provide rare access to the individuals who keep interurban history alive. During their visit, students will meet with conservationists to discuss the craft of restoring vintage equipment and talk with our operating crews about the physics of electric traction. These behind-the-scenes interactions offer a depth of engagement that most museum visitors never experience.
Trolley Ride
The highlight of every homeschool field trip is a ride on one of our vintage trolleys. Students will hear the distinct hum of the electric motors and feel the motion of the car on the tracks. As the sounds of a working electric railway fill the air, history stops being something they read about and becomes something they will always remember.
