We love sharing the history of Ohio’s electric railways with younger generations. Located right here in Seville, just minutes off the I-71 and I-76 interchange, our museum is a calm, hands-on place where families from across Medina County, Wadsworth, Brunswick, and greater Akron/Cleveland can step back in time together.
History here isn’t kept behind glass and ropes. Families are welcome to walk our grounds, talk with our restoration volunteers, and experience how communities traveled a century ago.
The Discovery Track
Open on regular operating days, Discovery Track is specifically for our youngest visitors, it’s a shaded outdoor space where children can slow down and play.
- Wooden Train Tables: A classic play area where kids can build and imagine their own rail networks.
- Vintage Farebox: Children can try out an authentic, working trolley farebox to see how riders once paid their way.
- Rotating Activities: Simple, hands-on activity stations and coloring spaces that change through the season.
Hands-On History Exhibits
We believe learning should be tangible. Our parallel timeline displays allow kids and parents to explore how everyday household items, toys, and communication tools evolved alongside our transit network. It’s a great way to spark curiosity about how people lived, worked, and traveled generations ago.
Story Time at NORM
On select days, we host guided readings set right among our historic cars. Our volunteers connect simple themes like teamwork, power, and how streetcars handled harsh winter weather directly to the vintage equipment sitting on the tracks. It’s an easy, welcoming introduction to local history for toddlers and early elementary students.
Vintage Streetcar Rides & Tours
Your museum admission includes a ride along our private operating line. Hop aboard a historic streetcar and let our volunteer crew share stories of Ohio’s interurban era. Afterward, families are welcome to take a self-paced or docent-guided walk through our equipment barns.
