While our home is on Buffham Road in Seville, we love taking our passion for electric railway history on the road. Beyond our regular operating days, our museum educators and volunteers partner with local schools, public libraries, and community organizations across Medina County and Northeast Ohio to share the story of our region’s interurban era.
Whether you are looking for a unique children’s program for a local library branch or an engaging presentation for a community group, we are here to help bring history to life.
Bringing History & Trolleys to Your School or Library
We believe local history should be accessible, tactile, and fun for kids. Our education team offers specialized children’s programs that can travel directly to your school, classroom, library branch, or youth organization.
- Children’s Trolley & History Programs: We bring the fascinating story of Ohio’s electric railways right to your young learners. Through engaging storytelling, historic photographs, and age-appropriate artifacts, kids discover how streetcars shaped their hometowns.
- Mobile “Hands-On History”: We can bring elements of our parallel timeline exhibits directly to you! These interactive displays let students explore how everyday tools, toys, and communication devices evolved right alongside our transit history, giving children a hands-on window into the past.
Media Mornings
When our operating season pauses for the winter, we enjoy staying connected with local history enthusiasts through our free public Media Mornings.
Held on select Saturdays in March, May, August, November, and December at Hinckley Township Hall (1410 Ridge Rd.), these casual community gatherings feature illustrated presentations, vintage slide shows, historic films, or video features exploring electric railways and the work we do at the museum.
- When: Doors open at 9:30 AM on select dates.
- Where: Hinckley Township Hall, 1410 Ridge Rd, Hinckley, OH 44233.
- Cost: Free and open to the public—no reservation needed. Just drop in for coffee, conversation, and local history.
Civic & Local Group Presentationms
Do you run a local historical society, library club, or civic organization looking for a speaker?
Our volunteers are available to share illustrated talks covering the history of Ohio’s interurban and streetcar lines, the daily lives of the people who worked on them, and the ongoing preservation work happening right here in Seville.
A Note on Safety
While our primary focus is historical education and museum programs, we are also authorized volunteers for Ohio Operation Lifesaver, providing standard rail safety awareness (“See Tracks? Think Train!”) for groups upon request.
